With over four decades of business experience, Patrick Parring has led investments and built businesses across the infrastructure, property development and, -technology sectors. His journey began in the engineering and manufacturing sector, ultimately culminating in his acquisition of Nedsteel in 1994—the same year as South Africa’s first democratic elections, and the company he worked for more than seventeen years.
Since then, Patrick has founded and led a portfolio of companies, continually expanding ParEquity’s impact across South Africa and the African continent.
ParEquity functions as a strategic hub, steering a network of companies and underlying assets as per “Diagram”.
This diverse investment structure enables us to create long-term value through collaborative partnerships, responsible investing, and scalable commercial models.

Patrick Parring is a seasoned entrepreneur, investor, and visionary leader with over four decades of experience in infrastructure, property development, private equity, and professional services. His journey began humbly as a labourer and welder at Cape Gate Fence and Wire Works. His dedication and talent saw him rise rapidly through the ranks at Nedsteel, becoming Contracts Manger and then Director despite apartheid-era barriers that limited advancement for people of colour. He left Nedsteel and founded his own business in 1989.
In a remarkable milestone, Patrick bought Nedsteel in 1994—the same year South Africa held its first democratic elections. Since then, he has built and led numerous ventures under the ParEquity brand, expanding into key sectors and laying the groundwork for pan-African growth.

Currently, he is actively involved with the ParEquity (Pty) Ltd, and ParVest (Pty) Ltd, and Tolcon Group. Patrick’s influence extends beyond business: he is deeply committed to civil society and social development. He has served as Chairperson of Synergos Southern Africa for more than 20 years, and currently serve as the Chairperson of “AVPA” Africa Venture Philanthropy Alliance, and on the AVPA Pan Africa board and was a founding chairperson of “WECBOF” the Western Cape Business Opportunities Forum.

Despite leaving school after Grade 8, Patrick pursued his education via distance learning, completing Grade 12 in two years, then went on to study at the now Cape Peninsula University of Technology and complete his NDP diploma.

Robert Parring is a commercial legal expert with a strong background in corporate law, mergers & acquisitions, and technology regulation. With a dual degree in Commerce (BCom Information System) and Law (LLB), Robert combines technical acumen with legal precision, offering clients robust solutions in the fields of ICT, business strategy, and cross-border transactions.
After early leadership roles as General Manager and Commercial Director at NTI Security Solutions, Robert transitioned into legal practice to expand his business knowledge and global exposure. He joined Dentons, the world’s largest law firm, where he rapidly advanced from Candidate Attorney to Partner in under eight years as a M&A lawyer. Robert further honed his legal skills at Bowmans (one of the big five law firms in South Africa) up until early 2025 whereafter he joined the ParEquity group of companies as Group CEO.
